Instagram is one of the most effective tools photographers of this generation use to promote their work and connect with followers, clients and fellow photographers. As a result, several ‘feature’ accounts cropped up on the photo and video sharing app that aim to discover hidden talents and give them a shout-out. One such account from the city is ‘Hello Hyderabad’ that has 15.1k followers. The founders of the page are Subham Swain and Ragini Sharma.

“We started the page back in 2015. Being photographers, we were looking to start a platform for photographers from the city to connect and form a community. Soon, people started sharing photos with #HelloHyderabad. We get around 50-100 genuine photos every day with the hashtag and we filter out good ones and post it on our page,” shares Subham.

All the photos on the page are clicked in Hyderabad by Hyderabadis. Even if some photos are not featured, people can discover them under the hashtag that has over 215k photos currently. Before the lockdown, Hello Hyderabad would even organise meet-ups. “We conduct photowalks in March and November every year at places like Golconda Fort and Qutb Shahi Tombs. Around 150-200 photographers would attend the walks.

After our co-founder Ragini passed away last year, I wasn’t able to focus as much on the page. However, once the lockdown is lifted completely and things get better, we’ll be organising more meets,” adds Subham.

From bird photography, food photography, fashion photography and nature photography to shooting monuments and landmarks, there are a variety of breathtaking photos posted on the page daily.
