Police arrest six persons, seize ambar packets in Warangal

Hasanparthy police with arrested persons and seized products in Warangal on Sunday.

Warangal Urban: The Hasanparthy police on Sunday arrested six persons and seized Rs 35,000 worth Ambar (banned tobacco products) packets from them.

The police have also seized Rs 5.10 lakh in cash and two mini trucks. The accused were identified as Chavoti Prem Kumar, Musuku Sai Ram , Bongu Devender, Odela Suresh of Vangapahad village in Warangal Urban district, and Gangishetty Sadanandam, and Appani Venkateshwarlu of Chalvai village of Govindraopet mandal of Mulugu district.

According to the police, Prem Kumar and Sai Ram purchased Ambar and Gutka packets from Bidar of Karnataka state last year and already sold 14 bags. While they were trying to sell the last bag on Sunday near Ayyappa temple on the outskirts of Paidipally village, the police on reliable information reached the spot and apprehended the gang.
