Karimnagar: In the wake of Ayodhya verdict pronounced by the Supreme Court on Saturday, the administration deployed police force at all religious places and other sensitive areas in erstwhile Karimnagar district to prevent any untoward incidents.
The police of Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jagitial and Rajanna-Sircilla districts had been taking precautionary measures from past few days with the SC verdict expected anytime.
Besides organising meetings with peace committee members, the police, through media, warned people of serious action if anybody tried to create trouble by spreading provocative messages on the SC judgment through social media platforms.
As part of their strategy, police force was deployed near mosques, Eidgahs and other important installations. Karimnagar Commissionerate also deployed force at Telangana Chowk, Mancherial Chowk, Naka Chowk and other areas in Karimnagar.
Commissioner of Police VB Kamalasan Reddy visited different areas in the town and reviewed security arrangements.
