Police nab two chain snatchers in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Two persons who were involved in two cases of chain snatching were caught by the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (South) here on Saturday. The police recovered 45 grams of gold and a two-wheeler from them.

Acting on a tip off, the team caught Mohammed Amjad (29) of Bandlaguda and Mohammed Sohaib (29) of Shahalibanda. The duo, according to the police, was involved in chain snatching cases reported in the limits of the Abid Road and Balapur police stations.

“On May 31, the duo went on a motorcycle to Abid Road wearing masks and snatched a gold chain from a woman who was riding pillion on a scooter. The next day, they went to the RCI Road in Balapur and snatched a gold chain from another woman who was going on a motorcycle,” said S Raghavendra, Inspector, Task Force (South). The two were handed over to the Abid Road police for further action.
