Warangal Urban: Former TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah alleged that the TRS leaders were playing a political drama under the guidance of party chief and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. He said that Legislative Council Chairman Swamy Goud was faking his injury as part of this drama.
He also said that the Congress would meet President Kovind and explain about the undemocratic actions of the TRS government.
He also condemned the expulsion of MLAs Komatireddy Venkatreddy and SA Sampath Kumar and the suspension of 11 other members for the rest of the session.
“CM KCR wanted to see Opposition leaders out of the Assembly because he is afraid of Opposition’s questions on the unfulfilled promises he had made to the people,” he said adding that the Chief Minister did not want debate on the farmers’ woes on the floor of Assembly.
Meanwhile, several Congress leaders including DCC president N Rajender Reddy were held under house arrest by the police in order to prevent them from organising protests over the expulsion of the MLAs from the Assembly.
