Theatre is slowly taking its charge in the city. With some of the prominent theatre groups giving the best experience to the drama enthusiasts, there cannot be a better time to set our own milestones.
Following this suit, a group of talented personalities came together to present the first-ever Telugu trilogy drama. ‘Pratapa Rudrama’ is going to be the first play in the history of Telugu theatre to have three parts.
“This kind of experiment (the trilogy drama) has mostly been attempted by foreign theatre groups so far. However, one trilogy-drama has been attempted in Maharashtra many decades ago and that was it,” says Dr Anita Rao who is the choreographer of ‘Pratapa Rudrama’.
Dr Anita Anita Rao is a gold medallist (post) graduate in the Department of Dance from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University. She has also completed her Mphil and PhD from the same University. Presently, Dr Anita works as a dance teacher for Government Girls High School Mahboobia. She is also a recipient of National Best Choreographer award in 2012.
Apart from the brilliant choreography by Dr Anita Rao, the play ‘Pratapa Rudrama’ is being directed by Dr Kotla Hanumantha Rao, who is the Head of Department of Art in Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, and written by NS Narayana Babu.
The first part of ‘Pratapa Rudrama’ which is sponsored by the Department of Language and Culture, Government of Telangana, will be presented for two days, September 28 and 29, at Ravindra Bharathi at 6 pm.
