Director Maruthi established himself as a calculated craftsman in reflecting the realities of life in his movies in a humorous way. His past films, along with records at the box office, were hailed as the best as far as human elements are concerned.
Maruthi exhibited his skill in mirroring the lifestyles in his own fashion to carve a niche for himself. On the occasion of his birthday on Monday, the director met the media and shared titbits of his journey. “I always chose certain components that dominate our day-to-day activity when I am given a chance to direct the film. It has never been my instinct to go away from the realities. When the director can think closer-to-life, the audience will also come nearer. I strictly believed in mirroring the society at large in the given two-and-a-half hour duration on-screen,” Maruthi articulated.
As the film Prathiroju Pandage has completed 80% of its shooting and is scheduled for a Sankranti release, Maruthi divulged a few details of the film. “The film is nearing completion with only 20& per cent of the work left. It also speaks about the nuances of life that fill our routine in general. We feel enamoured when somebody makes us aware of those minor things. Not only birth, even death is like a festival. That is what my latest outing is all about,” Maruthi shared.
Referring to his projects with likes of Allu Arjun and Ram Charan, Maruthi said that he was not in a hurry to do films just for the sake of doing. “Whether it is Allu Arjun or Ram Charan, we gel very well with each other. Whenever we meet, we discuss a lot of things on films. They also show interest in me. It does not mean that we go on board immediately. What I suppose is my thought or work should add to their careers. It is not right on my part if I try to make use of their images just for elevating my career graph or to escalate the scale of my career,” Maruthi said.
