Hyderabad: With the issue of triple talaq becoming a point of major debate, a day long workshop ‘Successful married life. But how?’ is being conducted on Monday to counsel the young would be couples.

Ilyas Shamshi, who is the organiser said the idea was to help the youngsters know the duties of wife and husband towards each other. “The workshop is split into four sessions and includes powerpoint presentation on the worldly life, matrimonial issues, rights and obligations of both men and women in Islam and couples,” he said.

Renowned Muslim scholar, Shaik Zafer ul Hassan Madani, will also address the participants. Shamshi stressed the need for both men and women being aware of their responsibilities in a marriage.“Sometimes marriages collapse due to small misunderstandings. And with no one to counsel them and unable to find any solution, the relationships end,” he said.

Several Muslim organisation had planned to hold ‘pre-marriage counselling’ programmes to prevent ‘breaks-ups’ and the concept was widely discussed following the Triple-talaaq Bill uproar by various Muslim organisations including the All India Muslim Personal Law Board.
