President Kovind plants sapling at Heartfulness Institute in Hyderabad

100,000th tree planted by President of India Ram Nath Kovind & Daaji Global Guide of Heartfulness at Kanha Shantivanam global headquarters of Heartfulness on Monday.

Hyderabad: The initiative of planting saplings across the city by Heartfulness Institute reached another milestone on Monday with President, Ram Nath Kovind planting the 1,00,000th plant sapling at Kanha Shantivanam Ashram, global headquarters of the institute in the city.

The Green Kanha initiative is to enrich the natural environment and lessen the destruction caused by human activities and achieving the vision of planting and nurturing 2.50 lakh trees across the country. More than 300 hundred old trees that were marked for felling because of roadworks have been rescued and transplanted in Kanha Shantivanam and they are regaining their resplendent form, according to a press release.

Along with the President, Global Guide of Heartfulness Institute, Daaji, Governor E.S.L Narasimhan and others were present at the event.
