Private bus rams into seven-seater in Mahabubnagar, 13 injured

Mahabubnagar: In what could have been a terrible accident, which could have cost many lives, 13 passengers travelling in a seven-seater autorickshaw had a narrow escape when a speeding private Volvo bus rammed into the vehicle from behind, leaving several injured.

The accident happened around 4 pm on Thursday just when it started raining heavily near Annasagar village in Bhootpur mandal on NH-44.

The autorickshaw was going from Bhootpur to Annasagar and the private bus was going from Hyderabad to Cochin.

According to Annasagar SI Srinivas Rao, it was the mistake of the bus driver for ramming into the autorickshaw from behind. He told Telangana Today that the bus driver has been taken into custody.

All the 13 injured were immediately shifted by the National Highway Authority of India personnel in their ambulance to Mahabubnagar Government Hospital where they were receiving treatment.

Balraju, the driver of the autorickshaw has been referred to the SVS Hospital in Mahabubnagar after his condition was known to be serious.

Jahangiramma, a resident of Bajiram thanda in Janampet village lost one of her limbs in the accident.

Police have registered a case and investigation is on.
