Telangana firm on filling up govt vacancies

The Minister informed that State government could create a total of 37,981 new posts in the government departments.

Hyderabad: Minister for Finance Etela Rajender said on Tuesday that the State government was firm on filling every vacant post in government departments and the process was under way to achieve the objective.

Replying to a short discussion on ‘filling up of vacancies in government departments and unemployment issues” in the State Legislative Assembly, he said jobs in government departments would be considered only for deserving sons of Telangana.

He said the TS Public Service Commission was entrusted with the task of direct recruitment for filling up 1,08,132 vacancies in government departments and the process was half way through.

The TSPSC was doing a splendid job. It had given recruitment notifications to fill 34,625 vacancies. The recruitment process for 5,932 posts was already completed. It was given clearance for filling up vacancies pertaining to Group I, Group II, Group III and other gazzetted, non-gazzetted and technical categories.

Besides the TSPSC, the State Police Recruitment Board, district selection committees, universities, State-owned companies /undertakings and organisations with autonomous status were also accorded clearance for taking up direct recruitment for filling vacant posts.

The Minister informed that State government could create a total of 37,981 new posts in the government departments. The government had already lists department -wise vacancies and initiated process for recruiting staff. As against a sanctioned cadre strength of 4,41,995, the State has in all 3,33,863 employees on its rolls, he said.

It has 1,08,132 vacancies to be filled. They include 42,539 in government departments. The selection process was completed for 18,874 of the vacancies in the government departments. As the organisations and societies under the control of the government is concerned, it could list out 20,614 vacancies and 9,000 of them were filled so far. The TSPSC had completed recruitment process for filling up 5,932 of the 34,625 vacancies in its purview. Of the 12,039 vacancies listed for departmental selection, recruitment was completed for 9,790 posts. The police recruitment board had completed the selection process for 27,874 of the 63,153 vacancies in its purview.
