After a very long gap, gorgeous Telugu star of ’90s Raasi is making a re-entry with an upcoming untitled movie. Produced by Rambabu Yadav, R Venkateswarlu, KS Sankar Rao and V Krishnarao, the family drama is being directed by Sanjeev Megoti. The movie has been launched after a formal puja ceremony held here at Ramanaidu Studios on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Raasi said: “I am happy to be back working for a good script. I liked the story in which I am playing an independent woman. My character is very bold and independent. After a very long time, I got a character that I have been wishing to do.

I had been listening various script over the years, but none were exciting as this one. Actor Nandita Swetha is playing as my daughter in the movie. And after a very long time, I happened to meet Annapurnamma, other Telugu stars here.”Lead actor in the movie, Siva Kantamaneni, said: “Earlier, I have done a movie Akkadokad Untadu under the banner Lighthouse Cine Magic.

This is our second production. It is a family story yet a suspense thriller. Nandita Swetha said: “I am very excited about playing glamorous role for the first time in Telugu. Movies have been releasing continuously and I am occupied with a lot of film projects as well. I have been doing performance-oriented and other genres other than romance.

I am glad that I did roles that have value for women. My character’s name is Lucky in this movie. I am very happy to collaborate with so many stars in Telugu.” Producer R Venkateswara Rao said he is happy to make a movie under the banner. “I have produced Akkadokaduntadu starring Siva as the lead hero. And now the second movie under the banner Lighthouse Cine Magic,” he said.

“I have earlier made several movies in Telugu and later shifted my base to Karnataka where I had produced five odd movies in Kannada and later switched on to television and continued as screenwriter. So, I wanted to make a re-entry again with a movie and came up with my own script where I needed a lead role with an age-group of 45. The movie has two schedules of shooting and title will soon be announced,” said director Sanjeev Megoti.
