Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Police, in association with the Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA), on Friday launched the ‘T-Consult’ app, which comes with the tagline ‘Health in a Snap’. With this, the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate will be the second police commissionerate in the country after Cyberabad Police, where all police personnel have access to telemedicine and e-doctor facility.
The app was launched by Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat at his office in Neredmet here. Bhagwat consulted Vishnun Rao, a pulmonologist from Swara Hospital and had a medical consultation online.
Bhagwat said with the T-Consult app, the tele-medicine facility has come as a breather during the lockdown.
“With this T-Consult app, Rachakonda Police Commissionerate will be the second police commissionerate in the country only after Cyberabad, where all police personnel have access to telemedicine and e-doctor facility,” he said.
As part of this, various medical specialists will list out the time slots they will be available for tele-consultation and people can seek an appointment online, the Commissioner added. After the tele-consultation, the prescription will also be sent to the patients online.
TITA global president Sundeep Kumar Makthala said T-Consult was already launched in Narayanpet, Yadadri Bhongir, Mulugu and Medak. TITA has also trained all the 39 gram panchayat secretaries, who now act as nodal officers for the T-Consult project. All the gram panchayat offices in Makthal Mandal have been made into nodal offices for the telemedicine project.
The telemedicine project is part of the efforts of the district administration to offer quality and affordable medical care to the people. TITA through its ‘Digithon Online Clinic’ had recently held a tele-consultation facility for NRIs stranded in Italy, France, Netherlands and other places on Covid-19. Now, the same is being extended to Cyberabad and Rachakonda police personnel, he added.
