Railway employee held for abusing minor in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Neredmet police on Tuesday arrested a man on charges of sexually harassing a minor girl. According to the police, D Shyam Kumar, 36, a railway employee from PB Colony in Neredmet, misbehaved with the victim who stays in his neighbourhood. She resisted his attempt and escaped.

After reaching home, the girl informed her parents about the incident. Based on a complaint from the victim’s parents, a case was booked under Sections of the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Shyam Kumar was subsequently arrested following an investigation. The accused was produced before the court which remanded him in judicial custody.
