Hyderabad: Several parts of the city were greeted with light to moderate rainfall since afternoon on Sunday.
Though the city woke up to cloudy weather conditions today morning, the weather patterns changed by noon time and while some localities received drizzle, the rain was heavy in some others. In some places where the downpour was continuous and heavy, the low lying areas were inundated.
The rains however failed to dampen the Ganesh idol immersion procession that went across the city with devotees joining in large numbers braving the weather conditions. The highest maximum temperature of 30.8 degree Celsius was recorded today in the city, whereas the minimum temperature was 26 degree Celsius.
Many areas including Uppal, Rajendranagar, Malkajgiri, Ramachandrapuram, Charminar and Hayathnagar received upto 39.5 mm rainfall.
According to the data recorded at various Automatic Weather Stations (AWS) by Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), the northern parts of the city – including Kapra, Quthbullahpur, Malkajgiri, Alwal, Kukatpally and parts of Secunderabad Cantonment area – will receive rainfall between 15.6 mm and 64.5 mm for the next two days.
The rest of Hyderabad will also witness light rainfall in the coming two days. The maximum temperature in the city during the period is expected to be in the range of 31 to 33 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature will be in the range of 21 to 23 degree Celsius.
