Hyderabad: Filmmaker Madhura Sreedhar Reddy will make a biographical film on Telangana Chief Minister and TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao. To be bankrolled by Raj Kandukuri of ‘Pelli Choopulu’ fame, the yet-to-be-titled film will depict Rao’s childhood, his life and political struggles.

“The crests and troughs in Rao’s life make for a perfect biographical film. He fought for the people of Telangana and the world needs to know his story. We are doing extensive research and have already interacted with a few people from Dubbaka village (Rao’s birthplace) to collect all the details. We will take ample time to kickstart the production and we have no constraints on the budget,” says Kandukuri.

The film will also have characters playing the role of Rao’s son KT Rama Rao, daughter Kavitha and wife Sobha. “It also has all the central characters associated with Rao. We’ll ensure Rao’s invisible presence is felt in every scene because it explores his life story,” avers Kandukuri. Besides several upcoming actors, the film will also feature prominent stars from Telugu and Hindi cinema.

“We are considering a couple of big names from Bollywood to essay Rao’s role. The film will also have seasoned actors from Telugu,” he adds. Kandukuri asserts that he is making the film with respect for Rao’s accomplishments and denies making it for money.

“Our intention is neither to cash in on his popularity nor to reap profits. We are making this project with our heart. We want to convey a message to the people about how he put sincere efforts to achieve the dream of separate Telangana amid great hardships.”

The film’s pre-production work will begin on November 15, while the project will take off only in June 2017. “The shooting will take place in Hyderabad, Siddipet, Dubbaka and Karimnagar and is expected to be wrapped up in six months. We are planning a worldwide release on February 17, 2018, coinciding with Rao’s 64th birthday,” says Kandukuri.
