Hyderabad: Rajasthan man held for cricket betting

The police seized Rs 40,000 cash, a TV and two mobile phones from him

Hyderabad: Sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force (North) team on Friday caught a person for allegedly organising cricket betting through Cricket Exchange app. The police seized Rs 40,000 cash, a TV and two mobile phones from him.

The accused, Mahesh Upadhya (33), a native of Rajasthan and resident of Kalasiguda in Secunderabad, was organising betting and collecting money from punters at his house for the ongoing Australia tour of India.

On a tip-off, the team caught Mahesh Upadhya and handed him over to Mahankali police station for further action along with seized material.
