Art is something through which an artist expresses his thoughts, imagination, and feelings. One among such artists is Ramesh Sunkoju, who hails from Old Alwal, is spreading awareness through his paintings and expressing his views on how the pandemic took place through his artworks.
“I’m an ardent lover of nature who was born and brought up in Kotapally Siricilla. I have always had a dream of becoming an artist but due to financial problems, I was not able to concentrate much. But things changed with time, I completed my Bachelor’s in fine Arts (BFA) and Master’s in Visual arts (MVA) and now I have my own studio (Greydot studio),” says Ramesh who has won many awards in state and national competition.
“It all happened in a short span of time. Recently, due to the pandemic, I started selling my artworks online. I love Mother Nature; there is a lot of beauty in nature and so most of my paintings are related to it. Also, I started digital painting recently. We should keep upgrading ourselves with technology,” says Ramesh who is currently working on paintings related to the on-going pandemic.
“One of my recent paintings is about Mother Ocean Save Nature. The environment is in us, not outside of us. The trees are our lungs, the rivers and oceans are our bloodstreams. We are all interconnected and what you do to the environment, ultimately you do to yourself. Lastly, we don’t see nature with our eyes but with our understanding and our hearts which is what I believe in,” concludes Ramesh who also loves to paint gods and goddesses.
