Hyderabad: To showcase some of the major achievements and capabilities of leading Research and Development (R&D) organisations from the industry, government and academia, a two-day Global Research & Development Summit will be held in the city from Thursday.
Hosted by the FICCI in partnership with Department of Science and Technology and Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE), the Global R&D Summit will focus on India-Africa Collaboration.
Speaking to presspersons here on Wednesday, TSCHE Chairman T Papi Reddy said that the summit themed ‘International Collaboration in R&D for sustainable growth’ will bring together key stakeholders from the R&D and innovation ecosystem.
“Close to 15 science and technology ministers from countries like Zambia, Ethiopia and Rwanda with delegations from partnering African countries are expected to attend the summit”, he said.
Policy makers and business leaders from India and Africa would explore ways to collaborate in R&D for sustainable growth, Prof. Reddy said adding the event would provide an opportunity for participants to explore new collaborations, exchange useful ideas, showcase and promote to the world.
The two day event would have discussions on healthcare, clean energy, product innovation and problems of commercialising the R&D. A flagship event of the FICCI, it is being organised under the aegis of Department of Science and Technology.
Union Minister of Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, Forest and Climate Change, Harsh Vardhan would deliver the keynote address at the summit.
