Rajanna-Sircilla: Collector D Krishna Bhaskar sought cooperation from the political parties and contestants to conduct municipal elections transparently and peacefully.

Participating in an awareness programme for the aspirants of Vemulawada municipality held at CiNaRe Bhavan on Tuesday, he advised them to get aware of the Model Code of Conduct by reading the Election Commission’s booklet. He also advised them to check the ballot paper and bring to the notice of polling officials in case of any mistakes. If anybody violated the code, a detailed report would be forwarded to the Commission.

Political parties and candidates should not flare up troubles by creating rifts among castes, religions and others, he said, adding campaigning was banned at temples, mosques, churches and other religious places. He also warned them against luring voters by offering liquor and money.
