Hyderabad: BJP nominee from Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency Bhagavanth Rao Pawar on Tuesday lodged a complaint with Returning Officer and Collector of Hyderabad seeking rejection of the nomination of Asaduddun Owaisi, AIMIM nominee, for suppressing information in the affidavit submitted by him, along with his nomination papers.
He said Owaisi’s name is enrolled in 51- Rajendranagar Assembly constituency (serial no 799 in part no 401) and also in 60 Khairatabad Assembly constituency (serial no 186 in part no 25). Asad has two votes, but he had deliberately suppressed the information fearing rejection of his nomination.
Owaisi is a member of Telangana State Wakf Board and receives an allowance from the board, but the same was not disclosed in the affidavit. Apart from this, he had resorted to undervaluation of his property no. 1 bearing H No. 8-15-130/As/1 situated at Shastripuram in Rajendernagar.
Both Asaduddin and his younger brother Akbaruddin filed nomination as the official nominees of the AIMIM, which is illegal, and the nominations of both the candidates must be rejected on this ground, he insisted.
He also wanted ‘kite’ symbol given to the AIMIM candidates be withdrawn for playing fraud with the Election Commission by sponsoring two official nominees from the same constituency.
