Renovation Committee constituted for Peddagattu

Temple authorities requests government to make the jatra a great success.

Suryapet: The State government has issued orders constituting renovation committee to Sri Langamanthula Swamy (Peddagattu) temple of Durajpally in the district.

As the famous Peaddagattu jatra will begin from February 12, various groups have expressed concerns over non-existence of managing committee to the temple. They have also urged the government to constitute managing committee to ensure transparency in arrangement works for Peddagattu jatra, which were to be taken up with more than Rs 1 crore.

Taking the requests into the consideration, the State government has constituted a renovation committee with seven members. Sunkaraboina Srinivas, Kodi Saidulu Yadav, Chintakayala Janaiah, Gorla Ganna Reddy, Kondeti Mariyamma, Mondikanthi Ravi and Munna Venkanna. The committee would be in existence till February 28.

The State government has already released Rs 1.29 crore funds for arrangements for this years jatra, which would come once in two years.
