RERA to fine defaulters with Rs 50k

Hyderabad: The last date for registrations of projects being November 30, the Telangana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) has decided to levy a penalty of Rs 50,000 and accept applications from December 1 to 7.

In a statement issued here, the TS RERA said the government had announced a timeline for registrations for projects approved between January 1, 2017 and August 31, 2018, before November 30.

However, at a meeting held on Thursday, the Authority decided to levy the penalty and extend an opportunity for the promoters and others to register their projects till December 7.

Stating that it would not be appropriate to reject applications after the last date of November 30, TS RERA said after the application is filed by a promoter from December 1 to 7, RERA would communicate the same through a notice or email asking them to pay the online penalty for registration.
