Nalgonda: A retired Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) Md Basheeruddin and his family staged dharna at the entrance gate of Nalgonda RDO Office on Thursday protesting against the delay in issuing high security pattadar passbooks of agricultural lands owned by his four sons at Terekantogudem village of Kanagal mandal in the district.
With umpteen visits to the Tahsildar and RDO offices in the past one year proving futile, the retired RDO staged protest at the RDO Office of Nalgonda for more than an hour. A high-ranking retired official of the Revenue department staging protest in front of RDO office alleging negligence of officials in issuing pattadar passbook is a significant development and it went viral in social media.
The retired RDO called off the protest after Nalgonda RDO Jagdish Reddy assured him that pattadar passbooks would be given to his family members within three days.
Basheeruddin said his family owned 15 acres of land at Terekantigudem and the land was in the possession of his four sons for the past 20 years. High security pattadar passbook was issued for 3.2 acres owned by his wife Unnisa. But, there was immense delay in issuing pattadar passbooks for the lands owned by his four sons – 3.32 acres in the name of waheed, 3.32 acres in the name Masiuddin, 3.34 acres in the name of Sameeruddin and 3.34 acres of Ziyauddin. He has been making the rounds of revenue offices for the last one year, but the reply from officials always was that preparation of the passbooks was in the process.
