On a rainy evening when officer-goers were heading home, in a hurry to reach before getting soaked through, and those at home preferred to stay safe behind locked doors, a pet got lost — unnoticed by the owner. And due to the heavy downpour, it’s barks didn’t reach people. But then came along Avinash Arutlla — a pet lover who not only stopped upon seeing the little dog but also ensured that the furry fellow reached its parent.

Avinash, who hails from Ram Nagar in the city and runs a security service, shares how the incident which occurred recently in Nallakunta made left him satisfied. “As it was raining heavily I decided to head back home from office a little early. On my way, I received a random call from some unknown number who informed me about a pet which is roaming on the road searching for its owner,” says Avinash.

“It was around 9 pm when I received the call. After giving me the message, the person cut the call, and there was no response when I called back. It was raining heavily, I was confused and wondered if somebody just pranked me. But I didn’t want to take a chance and went about searching for the dog, and I found the pet tied to a bike. I enquired with the people in the localtiy but none of them knew where the little fellow came from. So, I went to the nearby police station, gave all my details and brought the dog to my home,” says the 32-year-old who is a member of a dog rescue team.

The next day, Avinash got a call from the police station and was told the pet owner is waiting for the pet. “I felt so happy for the pet and finally handed it over to the owner,” shares the pet lover.
