A ride through Telangana’s Eturnagaram Wildlife Sanctuary

Jayashankar Bhupalpally: Efforts of the Bhupalpally forest officials seems to be paying off well with more number of people showing interest in the events being conducted by the eco-tourism wing of the forest department. On Saturday, nearly 20 people have participated in the cycling event in the Eturnagaram wildlife sanctuary.

The youth belonging to Warangal, Bhupalpally and Parkal have participated in the event on the first day, which was flagged off near Tadvai forest huts. The cyclists passed through the dense forest for nearly 46 km via Medaram, Oorattam, Kondeti view point, Kondai, Malyala, Dodla, Chinnaboinapalli and finally reached Tadvai forest huts. “It is a memorable experience for us. We have enjoyed cycling a lot,” said Kumar, a garment shop owner from Warangal. The forest department had prepared an event calendar from September 23 to January 28 for a series of events.

Suman said that students from NIT, Warangal, and others from Hyderabad are going to participate in the cycling event on Sunday. Eco-tourism district coordinator Kalyanapu Suman, Tadvai Forest Range Officer (WLM) Md Showkath Hussain , beat officers and base camp guards have participated in the inaugural programme.
