Road safety conference to be held in New Delhi on April 29, 30

Visakhapatnam: The Institute of Road Traffic Education (IRTE) in partnership with the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India, and in association with the School of Planning & Architecture, Delhi will conduct a two-day conference for the development of a Draft Policy for the safety of transporting school children in all modes of transport on April 29 and 30 at the India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road in New Delhi.

The conference is aimed at developing a policy document for India and South East Asia to incorporate the domains including roles and responsibility, road environment, vehicle factors, standard operating procedures as well as the curriculum of training of important stakeholders dealing with the transportation of school children in all modes of transport including both motorised and non-motorised means, enforcement, and post-crash management.

Rohit Baluja, a member at United Nations Road Safety Collaboration and president of IRTE and observer at United Nations Global Forum for Road Traffic Safety (Working Party 1) will speak about the policy that he is drafting for the policy.
