Hyderabad: Two roadside Romeos, who made it a habit to sit on the wall of a degree college in Ramanthapur and tease girl students of the college and harass them were sent to jail after the Rachakonda SHE Teams caught up with them.

The SHE Teams, which booked 36 cases and apprehended 40 persons, including seven minors, on charges of eve-teasing in the last three weeks, said a SHE for HER volunteer had alerted them about the troublesome duo on the wall.

A decoy operation by the Malkajgiri SHE Team identified the two as T. Mohan Rao, 20, a painter from Indira Nagar in Ramanthapur, Uppal and Chittivalasa Ramesh, 21, also a painter from the same area. The two, the decoy team found out, would be on their perch on the wall right from 8.30 am, and keep teasing and passing comments on the college students.

The two were taken into custody and a petty case was charged. The Third Metropolitan Magistrate court at LB Nagar, where they were produced on Tuesday convicted both and sentenced them to one day in prison. The two, according to SHE Team officials, were released and made to attend the mandatory SHE Team counseling on Thursday.

As for the other cases over the last three weeks, first information reports were filed in 18 cases while 15 were registered as petty cases and three as counselling cases.
