#RRR has been making headlines since the time Rajamouli announced that he is making the film with Ram Charan Tej and Jr NTR. The actors and the director, along with producer Danayya DVV held a press meet to revealed details about the film.
Rajamouli has confirmed that the film is being made on Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, and these roles will respectively be played by Ram Charan and Tarak. “The story is set in the 1920s and it is about their life much before they decided to fight for the independence of the country. Making a film on them has been on my mind for a long time. I have been working on it and, finally, the time to talk about the film has come.”
Komaram Bheem is from Telangana and Alluri Sitarama Raju is from Andhra. But, the journey of their life was almost similar and they have a lot of things in common, says the director. “This film is not based on a real story. It is a fictional story based on real characters. This is my perspective from what I have learnt,” he added.
The director also revealed that Alia Bhatta and Daisy Edgar Jones are the leading ladies of the film. While Alia plays Alluri’s Sita, Edgar will be pairing with Tarak. Samuthirakani is playing a key role and Ajay Devgn is definitely not playing the antagonist.
“If Tarak and I have agreed to be part of this film, it is definitely because of, and for, Rajamouli only. We have worked with him earlier too, for our individual projects. The story and his capabilities as an acclaimed director have made us say yes to the story. Moreover, we aren’t looking at the time and number of months we will be shooting for this film because, one film of Rajamouli is something that can be spoken about for a decade from now. So, working with him is definitely a big thing for every actor,” said Charan.
Producer DVV Danayya said he is proud to be associated with Rajamouli and announced that the film will be released on July 30, 2020. He also added that the estimated budget for the film is Rs 350 to Rs 400 crore.
“First two schedules of the film have been completed. In the end of this month, the team will be shooting in Ahmedabad and Pune for 30 days,” he said.
Talking about the workshops they have done for this film, Tarak said that those workshops were only to know about the freedom fighters and their characters. “We have decided to tell the story of our Telugu heroes, who are popular freedom fighters, to our pan-Indian audiences. So, to live up to their expectations, we need to know a lot about the characters we are playing. So, from the way they walk to how they talk, we have imbibed a lot of things into us,” said Tarak.
The shoot of the film is expected to be completed by the end of the year and post Sankranti, the team will be working on visual effects and post-production formalities.
