Rs 4.50 crore worth cheques given to FPS owners in Nizamabad

Rao urged dealers that they should provide better services to people and maintain timetable.

Nizamabad: Nizamabad district administration on Friday distributed Rs 4.50 crore commission arrears to fare price shop owners and would distribute the remaining Rs 3 crore soon, said Nizamabad Collector M Rammohan Rao.

Nizamabad Collector, on Friday, took part in a programme at Pragathi Bhavan, where cheques were distributed to FPS owners. Collector said Telangana government had been working on strengthening public distribution system to provide better services to people and increase commission to dealers.

He said of 751 FPS, 594 dealers have received Rs 4.50 crore arrears and remaining dealers would get another Rs 3 crore within a few days. Till now dealers were getting Rs 20 as commission per quintal now the price has been increased by another Rs 50 per quintal as commission, and now they would receive Rs 70 per quintal, he added.

Rao urged dealers that they should provide better services to people and maintain timetable. Collector urged the dealers to be an ideal for other districts dealers by providing better services to people.

Joint Collector M Venkateshwarlu, DCSO Krishna Prasad, Civil Supplies Corporation District Manager Hari Krishna, Nizamabad RDO Venkateshwarlu and dealers participated in the programme.
