Hyderabad: A Russian national died, reportedly of a heat stroke, in Gachibowli here on Wednesday afternoon. The man, identified as Alexander (38), is believed to have come down to India on a tourist visa recently and was engaged in film shootings in the city for the last few days.

According to the Gachibowli police, it was in the afternoon when the temperature was quite high, Alexander was found lying unconscious near Gate No 1 of the DLF building at DLF Cyber City in Indira Nagar.

“The locals who noticed him rushed to his rescue and with the help of police personnel shifted him to the Government Area Hospital nearby in Kondapur. He was further shifted to Gandhi Hospital for better treatment,” police said, adding that he died while undergoing treatment later.
The doctors who treated Alexander suspect he was dehydrated and died from a heat stroke. The Gachibowli police are investigating.

The body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital morgue.
