Watch: Rythu Bandhu cheque distribution nears half-way mark in TS

In the last six days, a total of 25,88,173 Rythu Bandhu cheques and an equal number of pattadar passbooks were distributed in 8,060 villages.

Hyderabad: The distribution of Rythu Bandhu cheques and pattadar passbooks to farmers has picked up pace and is nearing the half-way mark following its launch on May 10. With an average of more than four lakh beneficiaries covered daily, the authorities distributed nearly 25.88 lakh cheques and pattadar passbooks till Tuesday evening.

In the last six days, a total of 25,88,173 Rythu Bandhu cheques and an equal number of pattadar passbooks were distributed in 8,060 villages. Nalgonda district accounted for the highest number of 1.55 lakh Rythu Bandhu cheques and passbooks, followed by Khammam district at 1.25 lakh.

As part of the week-long drive taken up for distribution of Rythu Bandhu cheques, the officials have planned to distribute cheques and passbooks to about 58.24 lakh farmers from 10,750 villages in the State under the scheme. Around 4.77 lakh cheques and passbooks were distributed in 1,179 villages on Tuesday.
