Vijayawada: Rajya Sabha member Sachin Tendulkar on Wednesday visited Andhra Pradesh’s Puttamraju Kandrika village which he had adopted under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana and interacted with the villagers and officials.

Sachin had taken up several development works at a cost of over Rs 2.78 crore in this village under Gudur mandal in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district.

He inaugurated a community development building and interacted with villagers and officials on the implementation of Swachh Bharat initiatives.

PR Kandrika was rated as the best village under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana in various parameters fixed by the central government.

Sachin had first visited the village on the same day two years ago and had laid foundation stone for various development works. Incidentally, it was on the same day in 2013 that the legend formally retired from cricket.
