Hyderabad: A day after seven-year-old Sai Pravalika suffered a major seizure at the State-run Gandhi Hospital after receiving intravenous fluid, drug inspectors from Telangana State Drug Control Administration (TSDCA) interacted with her father Daravath Bixapathi and enquired about his role in the incident.

The hospital authorities on Friday set up an internal committee comprising three senior doctors to conduct an enquiry into the incident and submit a detailed report within the next 72 hours. Doctors maintained that the health condition of the girl, who was also suffering from a neurodegenerative ailment, was serious but stable.

“It is a fact that her health condition is fragile. But, in the last 24 hours, her health has not deteriorated and she is stable. The girl is suffering from a rare end-stage neuro disorder and she had been admitted here on multiple occasions. All possible care is being extended to Pravalika,” said Superintendent, Gandhi Hospital, Dr J Venkateshwar Reddy.

The drug inspectors who visited Gandhi Hospital on Friday said that detailed statement about the incident was collected from Pravalika’s father.
