World Rose Day is annually celebrated on September 22 in dedication to the welfare of cancer patients. On this day, people around the world work towards bringing cheer and hope into the lives of all those people who have been affected by cancer. More importantly, it seeks to remind patients and their caregivers, that they are not alone in this battle against the deadly disease.

World Rose Day 2020 is observed in the memory of 12-year-old Melinda Rose from Canada who was diagnosed with Askin’s Tumour, a rare form of blood cancer. After Rose’s diagnosis, the doctors had given her just weeks, however, she went on to live for six months. Twelve-year-old Rose didn’t give up hope of defeating cancer and inspired the lives of many people. She made each day of her life meaningful by spreading hope and positivity. She wrote verses, letters and emails to cancer patients to bring joy in their lives.

Rose is a symbol of love, concern and tenderness is offered to patients to provide the energy to face and fight the disease. There is hope for everyone and everything. Everyday sun shines and lets us think that the day for the victory never loose hope and stay strong while we win this challenge. Let’s be the change and the hope for the ones who need motivation.
