Sangareddy Collector advises officials to conduct Shramadan

During a surprise visit to DEO (District Educational Officer) office here on Thursday, the Collector found the premise unhygienic and garbage was strewn everywhere.

Sangareddy: District Collector M Hanumantha Rao has instructed the officials to conduct “Shramadan” at all government offices, cutting across the departments, every Friday to keep the premises clean.

During a surprise visit to DEO (District Educational Officer) office here on Thursday, the Collector found the premise unhygienic and garbage was strewn everywhere. Saying that keeping the premises of the government offices is the responsibility all the staff, Rao issued a circular asking the district officials to conduct Shramadan every week.

He called upon them to set an example for people on hygiene by keeping the offices clean by conducting Shramadan every Friday. The Collector announced that he would launch the Sharamadan on Friday at Collectorate, which the rest of the officials had to follow simultaneously from district headquarters to Panchayat level. He further said that they would present prizes to three best offices for maintaining hygiene every month.

Rao also said that they would issue memos to three poorly kept offices. The Collector instructed the officials to procure the baskets, crow, shovel and other things needed for conducting the Shramadan. Asking the officials be present at 8 am on Friday, Rao observed no officer will be allowed to skip the weekly programme.

Earlier, the Collector took part in a rally that was taken out on the eve of “National Dengue Day”. He called upon the officials to sensitise the people on Dengue.
