Sangareddy: In an endeavour to provide employment to youth from Schedule Castes and Scheduled Tribes in the district, the district administration has decided to provide training in driving light motor vehicles besides extending financial aid to help them own a four-wheeler.
Collector Kannan Manickaraj said that the unemployed youth can eke out a livelihood by operating four-wheelers as cabs. SC youth aged 21-40 years must be 8th class pass and must have a driving license to get the financial aid. They must also possess valid light motor vehicle driving license and candidates who possess heavy vehicle badge will be given preference.

In a review meeting with Scheduled Caste Corporation and ST Welfare Department, the Collector asked them to identify habitations where a number of SC and ST families account for more than 50 per cent of the village population.
