Sarpanch, SI suspended in Khammam

Khammam: The Sarpanch of Thirthala village of Khammam (Rural) mandal was suspended for allegedly encroaching endowment land and constructing a house in the village.

The District Collector RV Karnan issued orders suspending the Sarpanch Tejavath Balu Naik with immediate effect for a period of three months on Monday. The action was taken based on a report submitted by the endowment Assistant Commissioner who accused the Sarpanch of encroaching Sri Sangameshwara Swamy Temple lands at the village.

Meanwhile, Tirumalayapalem Sub-Inspector of Police Y Nandeep was suspended by CID DIG (In-charge DIG Warangal Range) P Pramod Kumar. The SI was recently remanded by the court for allegedly misleading the court regarding auctioning of sand seized in the village.
