Jeddah: Saudi Arabia on Saturday reported a sharp increase of 1132 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, brining the total number of infected cases in the Kingdom to 8274.
The spokesperson of ministry of health has disclosed that with the five death cases, raising the total number of cases and fatalities in the Kingdom so far to 8274 and 92 respectively.
He added that 79 percent of the new cases were discovered by health ministry’s testing campaign in densely populated neighborhouds, according to state news agency. He also announced that with the recovery of 280 cases, the total recovery cases reached to 1329.
Makkah recorded the highest number of infections (315), followed by 236 in Jeddah, 225 in Riyadh. Most of cases were discovered in crowded neighborhoods and labor workers camps.
The authorities undertaking house-to-house visits in the densely populated areas where foreign workers staying to check temperatures of residents and conducting coronavirus tests. Security forces enforcing strict curfew in the Kingdom to combat the spread of pandemic.
Meanwhile, Indian Embassy has announced that total five Indian nationals, including a person from Telangana in Makkah, has died in Saudi Arabia with coronavirus.
