SCR to intensify patrolling along rail bridges

Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Gajanan Mallya on Tuesday stressed upon the policy of ‘no compromise on safety’ and advised the officials to take all precautions for safe running of the trains during the present monsoon season.

During a review meeting on safety and punctuality, Mallya advised all the Divisional Railway Managers (DRM) to intensify the patrolling at bridges, tunnels, tanks and vulnerable areas to avoid any unusual occurrences.

On the punctuality aspect, he advised them to personally monitor it and draw an action plan to reduce the failures and attain best punctuality duly ensuring safe working. He instructed all the officials to inspect the breakdown vehicles as per their schedule in order to be prepared for any disaster.

On this occasion, Mallya directed the officials to initiate action plan for providing illumination of railway stations on par with the standards maintained by airports as per the direction of Railway Board.
