Secret Service agents drafting security plan in Hyderabad

The special protection force are inspecting Taj Falaknuma and other prominent places which Ivanka is expected to visit in city.

Hyderabad: A team of United States Secret Service agents have reached Hyderabad and are drafting a security plan with the city police ahead of US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump’s visit to Taj Falaknuma here next week.

The Intelligence Security Wing (ISW) will coordinate with the Special Protection Group (SPG) and the US Secret Service, sources said.

It is learnt that over 10 secret service agents are on ground co-ordinating with the local security agencies. They are inspecting Taj Falaknuma and other prominent places which Ivanka, the White House advisor is expected to visit in the city. They are checking the route map and the sensitive points as well.

It is also learnt that this is the first team which reached the city to coordinate with the State police for a foolproof security plan. The group consisting of the main guards positioned in the proximity is expected to arrive.

Officials of the SPG and ISW visited the Taj Falaknuma along with the City Security Wing and Niti Aayog, also National Institution for Transforming India to check the security arrangements here on Tuesday.

More than 500 police personnel are expected to be deployed for bandobast for Ivanka’s visit to the renowned hotel. The city police has planned for providing security along with the TS Special Police, Armed Reserve and Greyhounds too, apart from a team of Octopus is also likely to be deployed at the Taj Falaknuma or a nearby place.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ivanka Trump who will be in the city for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit on November 28, are expected to attend a dinner hosted at the Taj Falaknuma. Ivanka will visit the city for two days on November 28 and 29.

Last week, the South Zone police conducted a cordon and search near Taj Falaknuma and surrounding areas and picked up suspects and habitual criminals. They requested the locals to be alert and not allow any friends or relatives to stay in their houses for some days.

SPG reviews security arrangements for Modi’s visit

Hyderabad: The Special Protection Group (SPG) reviewed the security arrangements to be made for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the city to inaugurate the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project and the Global Entrepreneurship Summit at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in Madhapur here.

The SPG members, who arrived at the city on Tuesday, visited HICC, Taj Falaknuma Palace, Miyapur Metro Station and Westin Hotel along with the senior police officials, including Additional Director-General of Police Anjani Kumar.

Intelligence Bureau alerts police

Hyderabad: The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has alerted the police to beef up security around the HICC and Taj Falaknuma Palace along with the routes leading to the Palace from Rajendranagar, Bandlaguda and Chandrayangutta.

“We received an alert from the IB and it is general in nature. We are taking necessary steps to ensure peaceful conduct of the event commencing from November 28,” a senior police official said.
