2018 is going to be a year of entertainment because Netflix has a lot of original content in store for the New Year. There are many fan-favourite shows which are returning with new seasons on Netflix. To help you sort through the upcoming content, we’ve compiled a list of top five most-awaited sequels of the year.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones

An American web television series based on the Marvel Comics character created for Netflix by Melissa Rosenberg, set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Jessica Jones, played by Krysten Ritter, a former superhero with superhuman strength suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, now owns a detective agency. Jessica now is battling with demons from within and around, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need. The second season is scheduled to be released on March 8, 2018.

Grace and Frankie

An American comedy-drama web series created for Netflix by Marta Kauffman and Howard J Morris. The series stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin in the titular roles. Grace and Frankie are two unlikely friends who are brought together after their husbands announce that they are in love and plan to get married. It first premiered on Netflix on May 8, 2015, and, since then, the show has been a favourite to comedy lovers. The fourth season of this laugh-riot is set to premiere on January 19, 2018.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

An American black comedy-drama series developed by Mark Hudis and Barry Sonnenfeld for Netflix. This series is based on the children’s novel series of the same name by Lemony Snicket. The series opens with the Baudelaire kids, who lost their parents in a fire accident, are now in the care of their distant relative Count Olaf. The relative who was supposed to be their support in the time of crisis is actually determined to claim the family fortune for himself. In the process of escaping from Olaf’s grip, Baudelaires uncover the mystery behind a secret society from their parents’ past. The second season is scheduled to be released on March 30, 2018.

Santa Clarita Diet

An American horror-comedy web series created by Victor Fresco for Netflix, starring Timothy Olyphant and Drew Barrymore. The series is about a couple Joel and Sheila Hammond and their everyday suburban life in Santa Clarita, California, until when Sheila turns into a zombie and starts craving human flesh, now Joel and the family are helping Sheila to get her appetite. The series was first premiered on February 3, 2017, and the season one ended in a very dissatisfying note. The wait for season two will finally gets over as it might premiere somewhere around the first trimester of 2018.

Marvel’s Daredevil

An American web series created by Drew Goddard for Netflix is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The series is about Matt Murdock aka Daredevil (played by Charlie Cox), a blind lawyer-by-day who fights crime at night. In season one, Daredevil was seen uncovering the conspiracy of the criminal underworld being led by Wilson Fisk and in season two crossed paths with Frank Castle aka Punisher, a vigilante with far deadlier methods. What makes the season three more interesting is the final scene of The Defenders in which Matt is recuperating in a mysterious hospital bed and Wilson Fisk (currently jailed) learns Daredevil’s true identity and waiting to take the ultimate revenge.
