Hyderabad: Two days after the Indian doubles player N Sikki Reddy and physio C Kiran tested positive for coronavirus, both returned negative in the second round of tests on Saturday.

The two, along with players and staff who were attending the BAI camp at the SAI-Gopichand National Badminton Academy in city, underwent the Covid-19 Test with Sikki and Kiran testing positive on Thursday. With the latest development, decks are cleared for the resumption of the national camp at the academy from Monday.

Speaking to Telangana Today, Sikki said, “When the first test results came positive I was shocked. I didn’t show any symptoms. I was surprised when my parents too didn’t show any symptoms. So Gopi anna and others encouraged us to go for a second test. We went to Continental Hospital on Friday and got tested.”

She also revealed that she was confined to her room till the second test results were out. “There were also a few complaints about the hospital we got tested for the first time. The samples had gone to Mumbai for testing. So something must have happened there. But on Friday, we got tested in the city hospital. Now I am relieved,” she said.
