SI on point duty abused by youngsters in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A traffic police Sub-Inspector on bandobast duty was allegedly abused by a group of youngsters during the Ganesh idol immersion at Hussain Sagar late on Tuesday night.

According to the police, G Balraj, working with Chikkadpally traffic police station, was on duty at Crane No.13 when some Shiva Shankar, Vinay Kumar, Ajay Kumar and others who came with an idol for immersion had allegedly parked their tractor haphazardly obstructing the traffic flow on the lake road.

When the officer asked them to clear the tractor, they started arguing with him and abused them. The Gandhi Nagar police booked a case against the accused on Wednesday and took up an investigation. No arrests have been made so far, said the police.
