Siddipet: P Venkatrami Reddy, IAS officer, took charge as District Collector of Siddipet here on Wednesday.

Reddy, who was appointed as District Collector, Siddipet, in October 2016 after the creation of new districts in Telangana, was transferred and posted as Collector of Sircilla ahead of elections to comply with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. Then Sircilla Collector D Krishna Bhaskar had replaced him.

Prior to his appointment as Siddipet Collector in 2016, Venkatrami Reddy had worked as Joint Collector of erstwhile Medak district. However, Reddy has been at the forefront in dealing with land acquisition and rehabilitation under Mallanna Sagar, Konda Pochamma Sagar, and Rangayanayaka Sagar projects, which are being built as part of Kaleshwaram Project in Siddipet district.

Since the State government wants to pump Kaleshwaram water to these reservoirs during monsson and wants to complete the rehabilitation works, Reddy was appointed as Collector of Siddipet once again to complete the process swiftly.

The outgoing Collector, D Krishna Bhaskar, who had worked as Collector of Siricilla district until Assembly elections, has been again posted as Collector of Siricilla.
