Six-member burglary gang busted in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police arrested a six-member burglary gang which was involved in a burglary case in Rajendranagar here on Thursday. Police recovered Rs 42 lakh and other material from them.

The arrested were identified as Mohammed Muqthar alias Chotu; B Yadaiah; Shaik Amjad; Shaik Jahangir; M Venkatesh and M Mahesh, all in their early twenties and residents of Vikarabad.

According to the police, in April this year, Yadagiri and Amjad came to Hyderabad with tools, including hammers, screwdrivers, cutting pliers and chilli powder, and broke into a house in Aramhgar area. They decamped with 200 grams of gold and cash from the almirahs. Before leaving the house, they sprinkled chilli powder in the house to avoid being tracked by police sniffer dogs.

They were arrested on Thursday and produced before court which further remanded them in judicial custody.
