Slain gangster Nayeem’s wife in police custody in Bhongir

Hasmitha Begum was taken into the custody by the police on Saturday morning and was produced before Additional JFCM Court at Bhongir for judicial remand.

Yadadri-Bhongir: Bhongir Town police on Saturday arrested slain gangster Nayeemuddin’s wife Hasmitha Begum over her connection in 15 old cases of extortion.

According to Bhongir Town Circle Inspector Shanker Goud, Hasmitha Begum was taken into the custody by the police on Saturday morning and was produced before Additional JFCM Court at Bhongir for judicial remand.

The police maintained secrecy on the arrest and later released a brief statement to the media.
According to the sources, the police initially took Hasmitha Begum to Hyderabad and then shifted her to Bhongir police station. The police, it was learnt, took a fresh look at her involvement in old cases with the approval of senior officials of the department.

Meanwhile, there were rumours that Nayeemuddin’s niece Sahideeja Hasam alias Sina and her husband Mohammed Abdul Faheem and another follower of Nayeem were also taken into custody by the police. However, the police refused to comment.
