Snake lover dies while rescuing snake in Vikarabad

Sangareddy: In a tragic incident, a snake rescuer died of snakebite after he was bitten by Indian cobra while he was rescuing the reptile at Komsettipally village of Mominpet in Vikarabad district.

The victim Dhanush Mudiraj, (28), a resident of Shanthi Nagar in Patancheru in Sangareddy district, was working at MRF Company at Sadhasivapet, went to Komsettipally to rescue a snake on July 18. He was bitten by the deadly animal while rescuing it. Dhanush, a native of Rajamundry, was rushed to Sadhasivapet Hospital and later shifted to government hospital at Sangareddy where he died within hours. Dhanush who was a member of Friends for Snakes Society and had rescued over 200 snakes during the past three years. The death of the Dhanush left the members of the Society in shock. Final rites of Dhanush were performed in Rajamundry on Saturday.
