Solalu food exhibition gets good response in Adilabad

Adilabad: All India Radio station of Adilabad unit organised an exhibition of various dishes prepared with tender pigeon peas, locally known as Solalu, on the premises of the station on Thursday evening. Collector D Divya was the chief guest of the event and was accompanied by trainee assistant Collector Dr B Gopi.

Divya appreciated the participants of the event and complimented the authorities of the station for organising the novel programme. She opined that it was an unforgettable experience to taste them. She said that the peas could replace green peas used extensively in a wide range of Indian dishes.

S Sumanaspati Reddy, assistant director of Station, stated that the event was organised to create awareness over nutritional benefits of the pigeon peas. The pigeon peas are a nutrient diet and are a rich source of proteins and fiber. The cuisine can be had by people from all walks of life, he informed.

Programme executive Rameshwar Kendre, senior announced Durva Bhumanna, announcers Lenin, Kamalakar Reddy, Samala Rajyavardhan and staff members of the station were present.
