Sports Minister inaugurates National Rowing

The competitions, which start from Wednesday, will be held on the Hussain Sagar rowing course, along the Sanjeevaiah Park

Hyderabad: The 38th Senior National Rowing Championship was inaugurated by State Sports Minister V Srinivas Goud in city on Tuesday.

The competitions, which start from Wednesday, will be held on the Hussain Sagar rowing course, along the Sanjeevaiah Park. It will course a distance of 2,000 metres. All the races will begin from the western end of the lake, opposite The Park hotel and end at the Boats Club, Sanjeevaiah Park road. A grand stand will be constructed at the finish line to provide the best view for spectators.

Heats and repechage rounds in the 2000m will be held on Wednesday while Thursday will see semifinals and final. Friday and Saturday will have 500m heats, repechage and semifinal and finals respectively.
